Gateway claims that it has drivers for all monitors on its web site. This is not true. Many, but not all. I was not able to make any of them work for my model Gateway vivitron 17. But I was able to make my monitor work much better by going to the web site I am posting and using the utility that can be downloaded. You want to install this utility program while on line. It will search your computer and update any drivers. The video adapter was updated (ATI) and I was given much better performance for my monitor even though I am still using a Win/98 generic driver.
